Before Energy Improvements
- Greenstar 24i System boiler
- Greenskies solar panels
The existing heating system was over twenty years old and was only operating at around 75% efficiency, which is SEDBUK band E rated. As a member of the local Conservation Society, Mrs N was keen to make a positive difference to the environment by reducing the energy usage of her home, so she entered into a Worcester competition to win a solar water heating system. Mrs N was absolutely overjoyed when she actually won the competition and received a complete home heating package, including a Greenskies solar water heating system, a twin coiled unvented hot water storage cylinder and a Greenstar 24i condensing system boiler, which is ‘A’ rated for efficiency.
Official energy ratings taken from Energy Performance Certificate
Energy efficiency ratingVery energy efficient - lower running costs Not very energy efficient - high running costs The energy efficiency rating is a measure of the overall efficiency of a home. The higher the rating the more energy efficient the home is and the lower the fuel bills are | Environmental impact (CO2) ratingVery environmentally friendly - lower CO2 emissions Not environmentally friendly - high CO2 emissions The environmental impact rating is a measure of a home’s impact on the environment in terms of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. The higher the rating the less impact it has on the environment. |
