Energy House 7
The C Family, Oxfordshire

Mrs and Mr C had made several efforts to improve their home’s efficiency including; double glazing part of the property and insulating the roof, however they were conscious that their old heating system was letting them down.

The existing heating system was fairly old and was anything but efficient. Once the family decided they would replace their boiler, they began researching into different renewable technologies and decided that a solar water heating system would be the right choice for them.

Official energy ratings taken from Energy Performance Certificate

Energy efficiency rating

Very energy efficient - lower running costs

Energy efficiency chartee-25

Not very energy efficient - high running costs

The energy efficiency rating is a measure of the overall efficiency of a home. The higher the rating the more energy efficient the home is and the lower the fuel bills are
likely to be.

Environmental impact (CO2) rating

Very environmentally friendly - lower CO2 emissions

Environmental impact chartei-23

Not environmentally friendly - high CO2 emissions

The environmental impact rating is a measure of a home’s impact on the environment in terms of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. The higher the rating the less impact it has on the environment.
