Before Energy Improvements
- Greenstar 35CDi boiler
The F family’s heating system used to be operated by a SEDBUK band 'D' boiler which ran at less than 80% efficiency. With the prospect of continually rising energy costs and the increased hot water usage with having an active schoolchild in the house, the F family needed to have the most convenient method for providing their heating and hot water supply, using the most energy efficient means. They were also keen to find a solution which did not use a water tank, as this would have taken up valuable storage space.
Official energy ratings taken from Energy Performance Certificate
Energy efficiency ratingVery energy efficient - lower running costs Not very energy efficient - high running costs The energy efficiency rating is a measure of the overall efficiency of a home. The higher the rating the more energy efficient the home is and the lower the fuel bills are | Environmental impact (CO2) ratingVery environmentally friendly - lower CO2 emissions Not environmentally friendly - high CO2 emissions The environmental impact rating is a measure of a home’s impact on the environment in terms of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. The higher the rating the less impact it has on the environment. |
