Energy House 10
Coombe Dean School, Plymouth

Worcester was approached to update the efficiency of the heating system in a new teaching block, which had been built to replace six temporary run down units put up in the 1970s. The school was keen to show their ‘green’ credentials by building with sustainable materials and using ground source heat pumps to efficiently supply the heating and hot water for the new building.

Official energy ratings taken from Energy Performance Certificate

Energy efficiency rating

Very energy efficient - lower running costs

Energy efficiency chartee-47

Not very energy efficient - high running costs

The energy efficiency rating is a measure of the overall efficiency of a home. The higher the rating the more energy efficient the home is and the lower the fuel bills are
likely to be.

Environmental impact (CO2) rating

Very environmentally friendly - lower CO2 emissions

Environmental impact chartei-45

Not environmentally friendly - high CO2 emissions
